Mansfield Town were given another excellent pre-season work-out last night as they went down 1-0 at home to Premier League new boys Hull City.
Stags had their moments in the game, but the quality of the opposition meant the home side spent much of their time defending stoutly and former Premier League keeper Brian Jensen rolled back the years to make a hat-trick of fine saves while George Taft also came up with a goal line clearance.

In the end the match was won by a great finish by Hull’s lively Jarrod Bowen on 55 minutes.
Mansfield fielded a trialist left back for the whole game and a trialist target man for the second half.
