Selston threatened for the first time when their wide left man capitalized on a slip by Elliott Pitt and a great ball was crossed hard and low but Leak was there at the near post to cut out the danger.
Jamie Crawford again got himself into a good position but chose to shoot rather than square the ball to Matt Brian or Leon Aikman and this was to be the story of the first half as they got in good positions only for the wrong decision to be made or an over hit or under hit pass letting them down.
Selston appeared to be getting frustrated themselves and a couple of free kicks in good positions were blazed over, they had a big shout for a penalty when Pitt slid in and just nicked the ball at the same time leak game in from the other side fortunately for Hucknall the referee remained strong and then waved a penalty shout from the Hucknall players when Aikman was brought down.

For all of Towns eagerness and threat going forward and Selston’s effort neither keeper were tested until just before half time Jamie Crawford was put through and narrowly beat the advancing Selston keeper to prod the ball past him into the net.
The second half was less than three minutes old when Aikman took the ball from his own area and then gave away a sloppy unforced pass straight to a Selston player who played a delightful ball out left for Sean Gregory to control and with Hucknall’s bench screaming at their man to stand up it fell on deaf ears and Jordan Phillips tripped him for a soft penalty.
This was something Selston needed to give them a lift and the kick was duly converted.

The game then became one of stale mate has Towns counters were dealt with by the Selston defence and likewise Selston’s by the yellows defence.
Town had another shout for a penalty turned down when the ball appeared to be punched by the Selston defender when challenging Matt Brian.
Adam Nelson was brought on by Hucknall and he added a little bit more movement and within five minutes of coming on won a corner and which after a scramble was forced home by Jordan Phillips making amends for his earlier mistake to earn Town a share of the points.
