Police urge vigilance over cold-callers
Officers have received a number of reports of two men falsely claiming to be working on behalf of the local council, offering to install home insulation at a discounted rate.
A spokesman said while there was no reason to believe an offence had been committed at this stage, officers were reminding local residents to be on their guard.

Hide AdSergeant Sarah Bromley said: “We need to remind local people that they are in complete control when dealing with unexpected callers and remember: ‘If in doubt, keep them out.’
“Doorstep sellers can be very persuasive, but anyone working on behalf of a reputable organisation like a local authority will not cold-call offering to make home improvements.
“If a cold-caller knocks on your door, check their identification carefully and, if you are still not satisfied, call the company or organisation they say they work for using the number listed in the phone book or on their website.”
Have you been approached by cold-callers in the Warsop area? If you notice anything suspicious or wish to report a cold-caller in your area, please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
