Cash-strapped families struggling with the cost of living crisis are being helped by initiatives from Bulwell-based online retailer MuscleFood.

This comes after the newest data reveals supermarket food prices have surged over the past 12 months, leading to price increases as high as 50 per cent for low-priced essentials like pasta and meat.

MuscleFood’s essentials hamper is aimed at budget-conscious families and includes enough meat to make 38 meals at just 78p per portion.

To further help families struggling with soaring energy bills and the cost of living crisis, MuscleFood is making all of its Christmas hampers available to purchase using its new payment instalments option.

This offers families the chance to spread the cost of Christmas with any of their festive food hampers.

Customers are offered a choice of main course, with all of the trimmings and vegetables also provided.

The festive hampers also accommodate enough food for a Christmas breakfast and Boxing Day leftovers
