Date set for debate on bedroom tax
The petition, which has more than 1,000 signatures was submitted to the council on 14th November by Kirkby man and Save Our Services campaigner, John Moore.
The petition has triggered a debate regarding the Bedroom Tax which came into force in April this year.

Hide AdOn 5th December, Mr Moore will address the full council for five minutes to argue the case for a full no-evictions policy to be introduced.
Councillors will then debate the topic and decide their course of action in response to the petition.
Mr Moore said: “It is shocking that in the world’s 7th richest country, the UK, even the idea of evicting families in hardship is considered an acceptable option at a time when the richest 1,000 individuals in society benefitted from a tax cut and added an extra £35 billion to their personal wealth. That is why we need the council to enshrine a no-evictions stance in formal policy.” The meeting will start at 7pm.
