Francis Wellington (24), of Bowlwell Avenue, gave an undercover officer wraps of the drugs in September and October last year
He was locked up for five-and-a-half years at Nottingham Crown Court after admitting at an earlier hearing seven counts o
f supplying class A drugs.
Wellington was jailed for three years in 2003 for dealing heroin and claimed he had tried to turn his life around, but had been forced to start peddling drugs again after he was threatened with violence.
Judge Dudley Bennett accepted Wellington had been forced into dealing by the threats but said it was not enough to let him off the hook.
Jim Metcalf (prosecuting) said Wellington first met the undercover officer in Kelvedon Gardens, St Ann's and made it known he had drugs to sell.
He handed over heroin and crack cocaine and gave the officer his phone number.
The officer rang Wellington the next day and arranged to meet him. Wellington gave him two wraps of heroin.
They met twice more when Wellington provided heroin and crack cocaine.
The officer noticed that Wellington had a stash of drugs with him each time they met.
Wellington was also convicted of possessing a bladed article and road traffic offences.
Adrian Reynolds (defending) said that Wellington had tried to put his life in order since the release from his previous sentence.
But he got into debt and was forced to return to dealing to pay it off.
