BULWELL woman Hazel Duckworth has always been proud of the front and back gardens at her home.
But she says both have been targeted by vandals during the last six months.

Hazel (66), of Highbury Walk, receives a lot of help with her garden from her daughter-in-law, Linda (34), of Hempshill Vale.

Some plants are in memory of Hazel's husband, Derrick, who died two years ago after they had been married 44 years.

Hazel says: "A child's scooter was thrown over a six-foot fence in the back garden and two panes of glass in the greenhouse were smashed.

"Also, I bought £80 worth of busy lizzies for the front garden and these are all dying off. The reason can't be slugs because we have put pellets down.

"I have no idea why I am being targeted like this."

A community police officer has been to see Hazel and is investigating the vandalism.
