In fact, such is the desire to impress others, 13% of people in the East Midlands admit to lying about their weekend activites, with men 5% more likely to embellish their stories than women.
A whopping 73% of people in the East Midlands have a more positive outlook on life following a great weekend; nearly half (47%) are friendlier to colleagues, 34% feel more productive when they walk into the office on Monday morning, whilst nearly a third (32%) of work-hard play-hard people from the East Midlands confess to needing a day off to recover. Despite this, people in the East Midlands consider just one out of every six weekends to be ‘great,’ with almost a fifth (17%) claiming to have had no great weekends in the last year at all, more than anywhere else in the UK.

Hide AdThe research carried out by Budget Car Rental shows that 17% claim their jobs stop them from having a good time. Over a third (38%) of people in the East Midlands admit to thinking about work at the weekend, whilst one in ten (10%) check their work emails throughout the weekend.
